As a procedure, it uses injectables – both fillers and btx – to sculpt and define. The reason the two are used in combination is to achieve significant results, but without creating a harsh or exaggerated appearance at the same time. The two together give your face a more refined appearance. It’s key to achieve facial harmony as well, understanding balance to make people look like the best version of themselves. It’s a subtle difference, but it definitely has the effect of making me look younger. I don’t feel that it is extreme in any way, there’s no sense of my face not having movement or being frozen. I feel that I have full range of expression, people have been complimenting me. I like the way I look in the mirror.” – Michael The post Before & After – Anti-Wrinkle Injections appeared first on Dr Richard Sibthorpe. from https://doctorsib.com/media/2023/02/10/before-after-anti-wrinkle-injections/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=before-after-anti-wrinkle-injections What Is Profhilo Body?Profhilo Body is the ONLY injectable treatment on the market specifically designed for the treatment of body laxity and particularly recommended for the inner upper arms (bingo wings) and abdomen. Ever since the original Profhilo came out I had patients asking for Profhilo treatments that extend beyond the face – these have included the neck, decolletage, hands and above the knees. It is one of the original and most industry approved brands of liquid injectable skin booster. It is both preventative and corrective in combating the signs of ageing. How Does Profhilo Body Work?Profhilo Body remodels the tissue and improves skin laxity by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. It has low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (L-HA) that hydrates and regenerates the skin and high molecular weight (H-HA) which helps reduce sagging by providing a lifting effect. What Are The Benefits of Profhilo Body?*Improves skin elasticity *Re-invigorates crepey skin *Deeply moisturises the skin *Minimises the appearance of lines and wrinkles *Reduces skin ageing What areas can it treat? The injectable is specifically designed to treat the Upper Arms (bingo wings), Abdomen, Inner Thighs and Knees. Is Profhilo Body Safe?Yes. It consists of stabilised hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body. It does not have any chemical cross -linking agents, which allows for a safer treatment with little to no side effects. Does The Procedure Hurt? Most patients do not feel any major discomfort, as the procedure is quick and the needle is very fine. Topical numbing cream can be used to improve comfort. How Long Does The Procedure Take? The treatment is quick. It can be done in 30 minutes, but depends on the size of the treatment area and the amount of injectable used. Are There Any Side Effects? As with any injectables, you may experience mild swelling, redness or bruising at the treatment site. This is temporary and normally resolves between 2-3 days after the procedure. Is There Any Downtime? There is minimal to no downtime after the procedure. Do not touch or massage the treatment area and avoid strenuous exercise following the treatment, as well as saunas and steam rooms for 24-48 hours. How Many Treatments Do I Need? The initial protocol is 2-3 sessions spaced one month apart. This may be modified depending on the needs of the patient. What Results Can I Expect?Profhilo Body delivers gradual and natural looking results. It treats the skin from the inside out, triggering the body’s natural regeneration cycle and rejuvenating the skin cells. What Is The Profhilo Body Kit?Following the treatment, you will receive a Profhilo Body Kit which includes a Body Patch to soothe and moisture the skin and reduce redness and Profhilo Body Cream applied at home to maintain the results and restore tone and elasticity while also deeply moisturising the skin. But knowledge is power, so before you take the plunge it pays to have insight into what to expect, how it can help with non-aesthetic aspects and why starting small is key. First & Foremost, Do Your Research“Research is the most important thing you can do before Botox. You are thinking of having something injected into your face – surely you want to know everything you can about that and the procedure first? You’ll be surprised by how many of your friends are secretly having it done. They’ll have that natural, fresh look that many of us seek. It’s why recommendations are also essential. You should also always ask, who is the practitioner? What are their qualifications? And how long have they been doing it? I recommend checking for affiliations such as BCAM (British Colle of Aesthetic Medicine) and registration with the GMC (General Medical Council) – this means that they are fully vetted and trustworthy.” Start Off Small“As Bibi says, ask yourself why you’re doing it. If you see the signs of ageing when you look in the mirror – like wrinkles and heavy frown lines – then yes, Botox can work well. It doesn’t always have to be the maximum amount immediately, either. Start with ‘Baby Botox’ which is just a small amount. This way, you can see if you like it. You can always have more as part of a review or adjustment.” Know The Needles Are Tiny“A lot of people fear the needles with Botox but it’s worth noting that the ones we use are very fine. Because of this, most people don’t find Botox to be too painful. If you know your practitioner is skilled, you should also be reassured knowing that any discomfort will be kept to a minimum. It is possible you could get a bruise, but that is less common these days, nevertheless, consider whether you should go back to work after or not once having had it done.” …And Take Stock Of Aftercare“Before you have Botox, it’s worth knowing that aftercare is key, too. My biggest advice? Avoid touching the area you’ve had it done and don’t use make-up for a few hours afterwards. This way, you’ll avoid any infection. Bruising can be a common side effect for some, so ice and arnica after treatments can be useful.” Attend Your Consultation“Consultations are a very important part of the treatment – especially if you’re wary. Come to the consultation with all your questions written down so you don’t forget to ask anything. It’s often a time we can alleviate your concerns, too. Some practitioners charge, but usually waive the fee if you proceed to have the treatment with them. Either way, it’s well worth yours – and our – time.” Be Aware Of Costs“Botox fees do vary, but there is a set formula that’s worth knowing. Fees are set out according to the number of areas you have treated – from one to three as a rule. Fees may go up or down depending on where you are in the UK and who the practitioner is, but typically, you’re looking at £200-£500. Anything that seems overly cheap or much more expensive than this should be queried.” The post Considering Botox? – Dr. Sibthorpe featured in Sheerluxe appeared first on Dr Richard Sibthorpe. from https://doctorsib.com/media/2022/10/14/considering-botox-dr-sibthorpe-featured-in-sheerluxe/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=considering-botox-dr-sibthorpe-featured-in-sheerluxe They both protect you from the sun but have different meanings and use. *SPF (Sun Protection Factor) measures the effectiveness of sunscreen. Needs to be applied regularly. Must be applied 20 minutes before sun exposure. *UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) it rates the effectiveness of fabric in blocking UV radiation. No reapplication required. FAQ: WHAT DOES THE RATING OF UPF CLOTHING MEAN?The UPF rating is a factor to measure the UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning) rays will reach the skin. The higher the UPF, the lower the radiation and harm is transmitted to the skin. DOES UPF WASH OUT OF CLOTHING?UPF clothing can be washed with your other clothing using regular detergent. It can also be put in the dryer on low to medium heat. CAN YOU WEAR SUNSCREEN UNDER UPF CLOTHING?UPF clothing protects 98% of the sun’s rays. There is no reason to put sunscreen underneath UVB (burning) rays. WHAT IS BROAD SPECTRUM?Broad spectrum in sunscreen and clothing defines protection against both UVA (ageing rays) and UVB (burning rays). When choosing sunblock be sure to read the label and look for broad spectrum. IS SPF 50 BETTER THAN SPF 30?An SPF 30 will protect you from around 96.7% of UVB rays. An SPF 50 protects you around 98% of UVB (burning) rays. Anything beyond SPF 50 makes very little difference in terms of risk of sun damage and no sunscreen can offer to protect you 100% from UVB rays. WHAT SPF DO DOCTOR’S RECOMMEND?Dermatologists recommend using a sunscreen with and SPF of at least 30 which blocks 97% of the sun’s UVB rays. DO I NEED SUNCREEN IF MY MOISTURISER HAS SPF?Yes, by keeping them separate you reap the full benefits of a SPF and moisturiser. You need to use a separate sunscreen applied all over your face, including your neck, chest, and ears if they will be exposed or you risk being under protected.
